A fish shortage in the Western Cape has left local fishermen high and dry.

Deputy President Paul Mashatile has been given seven days to account to Parliament's ethics committee regarding corruption allegations against him. Mashatile was in the National Assembly on Thursday, answering questions on the government's efforts to clamp down on corruption. 

The uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party will have to scrap Jacob Zuma's name from its candidate list after the Electoral Commission of SA (IEC) told the party that the former president cannot contest for a seat in Parliament. The MK Party has previously threatened violence if Zuma was barred from contesting the elections. 

Many Western Cape homes will be without their beloved pickled fish this Easter, due to what local fishers say is a shortage of fish that is driving up prices. West Coast fisherman and co-founder of Abalobi Fisheries Nico Waldeck said the lack of fish was distressing.
