The board found Pistorius had not served the minimum detention period necessary for early release. Pistorius killed his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp in February 2013. The Democratic Alliance's leaders have gathered in Midrand to elect its new leadership, and according to Greg Krumbock, the congress' presiding officer, the party could be electing the next president of the country.
