The story: Jacob Zuma is adamant that former prisons boss Arthur Fraser saved his life by granting him medical parole – but if Fraser was wrong to do so, the former president wants the Constitutional Court to rule he shouldn't go back to jail.

The background: The Supreme Court of Appeal last year dismissed efforts by Jacob Zuma and correctional services authorities to appeal the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria's ruling that the former president was unlawfully granted medical parole.
