AHMED AREFF, FIN24 DEPUTY EDITOR Karpowership got 'red carpet treatment', rival claims in court challenge DNG Energy, a local power company that lost a bid for a contract to supply emergency power, has said it was wrongly disqualified while its rival "got the red carpet treatment" as its court case to reverse the results of the tender kicked off in the Pretoria High Court.    The court challenge deals with the government's Risk Mitigation IPP Procurement Programme (RMIPPPP), a project to quickly add new power to SA's grid to cut down on load shedding.    After DNG was not named among preferred bidders in March, it turned to the courts, claiming the tender process had been corrupted by shady backroom deals to favour floating powership provider, Karpowership SA.   Karpowership SA, which won the lion's share of the emergency power contacts, has denied DNG's allegations.
