In the news: The council of St Andrew's College (SAC) says "once all relevant information has been released", it will conduct a "full review of the school's actions" in relation to complaints over the behaviour of former water polo coach David Mackenzie.

The background: The trainer is accused of behaving inappropriately with pupils who were under his care.
 

The details: In the last three weeks, the My Only Story podcast has revealed Mackenzie allegedly had inappropriate social interactions with pupils at the school, including signing two boys out of the sanatorium against school policy in June 2018.

The story: The erstwhile national health department CFO, Ian van der Merwe, will not escape accountability even though he jumped ship before a forensic report on the controversial Digital Vibes tender named him as an implicated official.
 

What we know: The Special Investigating Unit (SIU) obtained evidence Van der Merwe had contravened provisions of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA).
 

What he did: SIU investigators found he allowed the department to make payments to Digital Vibes that were contrary to the National Treasury approved amount of R25.9 million.

Latest developments: President Cyril Ramaphosa announced on Thursday evening the country will move to adjusted Level 1 lockdown, starting at midnight.
 

What's new: He also said the government would also be implementing a vaccine certificate.
 

Official comment: "The current trends in the progression of the pandemic mean that a number of the restrictions in place can be eased, as per the recommendations of the Ministerial Advisory Committee on Covid-19," Ramaphosa added in his national address.
