Pupils of a Pretoria school penned a letter to the school, asking it to publicly acknowledge its history of racial discrimination, Parliament's process to amend Section 25 of the Constitution to allow for expropriation without compensation continues and Prasa will resume with limited service.

Past, present pupils pen open letter calling on Cornwall Hill College to act against racism

The story: Past and present pupils of a Pretoria private school have penned a three-page open letter to the institution in which they have asked it to publicly acknowledge its history of racial prejudice and discrimination - and change its policies.

What we know: Matriculants who attended Cornwall Hill College between 2004 and 2020 apparently contributed to the letter, which News24 has seen.
 

The details: In it, the writers also called on the school to implement detailed disciplinary action for racism, religious prejudice, queerphobia and other forms of discrimination.

Expropriation: National Assembly re-establishes ad hoc committee to amend Section 25

The story: The National Assembly adopted a motion to re-establish an ad hoc committee to amend Section 25 of the Constitution to allow expropriation without compensation.

What happened: The DA, FF Plus and ACDP – who have been against an amendment since the motion to amend the Constitution had been passed in February 2018 – objected to the committee's re-establishment, with the impact on the economy a common concern.
 

What else: The ANC, EFF, NFP and Al Jamah-Ah expressed its support for the committee's re-establishment, citing the need to correct a historical wrong.

Prasa to resume limited services on Wednesday, 4 lines to operate nationally

The latest: Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (Prasa) will resume its services on Wednesday, under strict conditions to adhere to regulations.

What we know: Only a few commuter trains are expected to return to carrying passengers.
 

What's more: Prasa announced on Tuesday that it will only operate four lines nationally.
